While pregnancy has a number of woes and ailments that I'll refrain from listing here, my biggest daily, even hourly, even minute-ly (is that a word?) annoyance is the falling down jeans. And while I welcome the addition of some stretch to my denim, I loathe the way it causes my jeans to sag and slouch.
If you cared to follow me around the house, this is what you'd see:
step. step. step. hike up the jeans. step. step. step. hike up the jeans.
It makes me crazy. On top of that, I have a few shirts or sweaters that I love and don't want to part with despite my long torso and growing belly. But the last thing I want to see on my pregnant self in the middle of winter is too much skin.
So when I stumbled upon Blush Topless Undershirts, I was immediately intrigued. Pregnant or not, here's the solution to many wardrobe problems.
The layered look without the extra bulk.
Get more wear out of shirts that shrank in the wash.
Long torso? Tees never long enough? Get just the right amount of length you want.
Pregnant? Tempted to unbutton that top button on your favorite pair of jeans? Hide it and hold 'em up.
Nursing? Lift your shirt without exposing all kinds of skin. :)
The nice people at Blush sent me a maternity undershirt to try and I have to say it was really comfortable and exactly what I'm needing at this stage in my pregnancy. But I can also see how I'd really love having one, even if not sporting an expanding belly. And not only did I get to try one, Blush is also giving away one to a lucky reader**. Leave a comment to be entered. I'll announce the winner on Thursday.
Didn't win the giveaway? Can't wait for the results?
Use the coupon code : welovebloggers to get 20% off your order of two or more undershirts.
Good luck!

Oh, what I would have given for one of these when I was pregnant! Maybe I'll be lucky enough to snag one for the next time around. Thank you for hosting this. I love the new look here. Very fresh!

thanks for the remodel love, friends!! But just popping in to say that these also come in "regular" sizes, not just for maternity.
Good luck!

what a cool idea! I'm so over jeans now. I'm all about the yoga pants and leggings. :)

i must say, it is wonderful to hear another pregnant woman who is driven crazy by the minute by her falling down jeans! ugh!! it drove me crazy both times i was expecting and i often wonder if i could be able to deal with it a third time (yes, i know that's crazy but true :).
i have also been plagued for years of being a bit too tall for most shirts on the market.
these tummy cover shirts are brilliant! thank you for sharing!

Those would be great for nursing the babe. I'm always tugging the side of my shirt down, great giveaway!
Posted by: Jennifer | 05 January 2010 at 06:43 PM
am nursing and would love it!
Posted by: Esther | 05 January 2010 at 06:44 PM
Wow! My pregnant belly would love this! And I know exactly how you feel about hiking up your pants. Somehow, I find myself doing the same thing - and mine even have drawstrings! Of course, it could have something to do with the one-year-old forever pulling on my pant legs.. (:
Posted by: melissa | 05 January 2010 at 06:47 PM
I think I must have these. I guess I keep growing taller or shirts keep getting shorter, regardless I'm tired of not having anything long enough. Thanks for the info. Oh, and your new space here is very nice.

Not preggers but would love something like this! I just shrunk one of my favorite sweaters in the wash. Am I reading the site right - it is like a tube top but worn where you want?

How neat! I was just wandering through Costco last night looking for some tanks that were long enough to cover my tummy. This is the perfect solution! (And I hear you on the pant dilemma, I thought maybe it was because I don't have enough in the back area, so to speak, yet. I'm only 5 months along, so there's time...)

I'm pregnant too, and and am doing the Step, Step, Hike Shuffle as well! What a fabulous idea, and I relish the idea of using the undershirt for after the baby comes and I don't want to show the world my belly!
Posted by: Rebecca | 05 January 2010 at 07:12 PM
I'd love to win! I keep hearing good things about Blush, but I haven't tried them yet...
Posted by: Shelly | 05 January 2010 at 07:14 PM
Love these! I like to layer with tanks underneath and get pretty sick of yanking them down... these are the perfect solution!
Posted by: Carmen | 05 January 2010 at 07:18 PM
i fit into the "nursing and not wanting to show extra skin as i lift up my shirt category." so, count me in!
Posted by: Gina | 05 January 2010 at 07:22 PM
I would have given a leg for one of these last summer, But now that I am nursing I would still love one.
Posted by: jessica | 05 January 2010 at 07:30 PM
Yes, I would like to cover some skin!
Posted by: Jess | 05 January 2010 at 07:43 PM
Ironic... I was just thinking last night that I have to try and find these again as they would come in handy. Fingers crossed... thanks!
Posted by: Susan | 05 January 2010 at 07:52 PM
I'd love one! Not pregnant (praying though) but I've lost a bit of weight. It isn't enough to comfortably fit in the next size down jeans, but enough that the ones I have fall down a bit. Sounds like this product would solve that for me.
Posted by: Heather G | 05 January 2010 at 07:53 PM
What a great idea! Love it! Not pregnant, but still like to hide my skin ;)
Posted by: Katrina Kennedy | 05 January 2010 at 08:02 PM
I am nursing twins at the moment and the "extra skin" showing is almost a near impossibility. :) Looks like a fantastic top, though; I'd love to try one!
Posted by: Olivia | 05 January 2010 at 08:16 PM
I agree, the has-been pregnant crowd, and the just-getting-over-the-holidays crowd - ahem... I like this idea and wonder if I can do something about the shirts of mine that are too short.....
Posted by: Beth Lehman | 05 January 2010 at 08:19 PM
nice... i'm with Gina too hahah!
Posted by: barbara | 05 January 2010 at 08:26 PM
This would work great for me, as I'm 10 weeks pregnant with #3 and nothing fits but I'm not wanting to go to maternity clothes.
Posted by: Kelly | 05 January 2010 at 08:27 PM
I'm not pregnant *yet* but I would totally wear one of these!
Posted by: Leslie | 05 January 2010 at 08:32 PM
Just 5 minutes ago I had the falling down jeans discussion with my husband. I hate it! This is my 4th pregnancy, and I always wear regular clothes until it's just ridiculous to do so. He told me I should design a maternity line. ha

The second time I was pregnant, I cut off the arms of all my second-favorite shirts and used them in exactly this capacity- I'm so glad to see someone's done a (proper) version! I'm super long-torsoed, so I'd love to win one of these even tho I'm NOT pregnant!
And loving the remodel here, Molly. xo

Not pregnant but would love one -- looks super comfortable and would hide the leftovers around my mid-section from two babies!
Posted by: bleueyed beauty | 05 January 2010 at 08:38 PM
I also have the eternal shirt too short problem. Seems like a great solution.
Posted by: desiree | 05 January 2010 at 08:48 PM
I love the layered look -- and it would be so handy for nursing! I totally want one!
Posted by: Grace | 05 January 2010 at 09:08 PM
I laughed so hard at the beginning of this post! I am pregnant and wearing maternity jeans that have been stretched just a little bit too far from my last pregnancy and from loaning them out to a friend pregnant with twins. Every time I wear them there are some serious sagging issues! Count me in for the drawing!
Posted by: Christine | 05 January 2010 at 09:26 PM
That sounds neat! I could use one of those in a couple of months.
Posted by: tala | 05 January 2010 at 09:29 PM
What a great idea! Love the coverage -- much needed here.
Posted by: chris | 05 January 2010 at 09:31 PM
love this idea...would love to be a lucky winner.
Posted by: Melissa Gruber | 05 January 2010 at 09:32 PM
This would be great as I struggle to lose the post baby lbs.!
Posted by: Kari E | 05 January 2010 at 09:32 PM
Love your new headlining photo. Wintry and breath-taking.
Would kill for one of these shirt right now as I am large with twins and have a belly from my previous pregnancy that I'm fond of covering.
Posted by: chantelle | 05 January 2010 at 10:07 PM
I had something similar for my pregnancy, I never thought to wear it for non-preggers clothing issues, what a great idea!
Hope all is well with you and the bun.
Smooch!

How cool! I am not pregnant currently, but I feel your pain with the falling down jeans, it seems even "normal" jeans are so low-rise now that I am constantly hiking mine up when standing up. Thanks for the intro to this product!
Posted by: Brittany | 05 January 2010 at 10:43 PM
wonderful! thanks so much!

Just found out that I am pregnant again and I am sure these would come in handy.

I've been experimenting with long tanktops under shirts but yes the 'bulk' is there, and I don't need any help. this looks like an interesting solution! I'm game!

Let me add my amen to the elastic jeans problem and throw my hat in for the giveaway. I'm right at that in between stage where I could wear my pants unbuttoned and pray my shirt stays down long enough or wear maternity pants that are still a tad too big in the belly. (although might I add that in the last month of my last pregnancy I discovered Secret Pants from motherhood maternity that have this sort of light nylon tube that comes up to your bra line instead of the elastic sagging below my belly. I have the lack of junk in the trunk problem so even with regular maternity pants I end of step step shuffling my way through my entire pregnancy. Until I discovered the secret pants) I think the benefits of having it for nursing would be the best!

These look awesome! I wear an undershirt every day and spend a lot of time pulling it down because it doesn't feel long enough. Thanks for the hook up.

ooo, love these!

Fun! I hate it when my belly gets all *out* there when I reach up to get something!
